Mark Your Calendars for the 3rd Annual Giving Back to the Community Gala
El Paso, our 3rd Annual Giving Back to the Community Gala will take place on Saturday, November 2, 2019. As we look forward to the annual gala, we would like to take a look back at last year’s gala, which was a huge success.
Here’s what our 2nd annual Southwest Association of Nigerian Physicians community gala entailed and how you can join us for this year’s festivity.
Last Year’s Gala Was One For the Books!
Our guest speaker was Nigeran political activist and prominent playwright Wole Soyinka. Having Soyinka in attendance was a special honor and hearing him speak on the message of being peacemakers in our community given our unique role as doctors was truly moving! You can read his full speech here.
The special occasion also included several Nigerian entertainers such as Nigerian violinist Demola and traditional Yorubaland dancers. If you were not able to join or would like to relive the magic, you can watch the full event here.

Would Your Organization Like to Become a Sponsor?
When your organization becomes a sponsor, you will be joining one of the most giving doctor associations in the Southwest. The Southwest Association of Nigerian Physicians believes in giving back.
Most recently, we donated $10,000 to the Burrell College of Osteopathic Medicine (BCOM) at New Mexico State University towards their student scholarships. As a public-private program, BCOM is dedicated to educating future health leaders on the medical issues exclusive to the Southwest, this includes serving the Native American and Hispanic populations, as well as other minorities in the area.
If you and your organization would like to join our efforts, please connect with us today. This includes becoming a VIP Sponsor as well as attending the 2019 gala.
